Mr Syed Mohammed Sarfaraz Hamid is an experienced Information Technology professional, academic, and researcher with over 15 years of professional experience, beginning his career in 2010. His expertise encompasses software development, web technologies, database management, system analysis, IT project management, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), and intelligent digital systems. He earned his Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, India, in 2009. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Malaysia, specialising in Human–Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence (AI), User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI) Design, Machine Learning, and Culturally Adaptive Web Interfaces. His doctoral research explores the integration of human-centred design principles, cultural adaptation, and intelligent computing techniques to develop web interfaces that respond to diverse cultural contexts and user needs. His professional career includes ten years of service at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman, where he contributed to the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of institutional information systems and digital services. His subsequent professional engagement at the University of Nizwa, Oman, has further expanded his contributions to academic activities, technological development, and institutional initiatives. Throughout his career, Mr Sarfaraz has demonstrated extensive expertise in software engineering, web and standalone application development, database administration, system optimisation, and technical support management. His experience covers the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system architecture to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. His technical knowledge, analytical approach, and project management capabilities have supported the successful delivery of institutional technology solutions. In recognition of his technical expertise and contributions to academic publishing, Mr Sarfaraz was appointed as Technical Editor of the Journal of Agricultural and Marine Sciences (JAMS), published by Sultan Qaboos University. This appointment represents an important aspect of his professional engagement with scholarly publishing and academic communication, complementing his experience in information technology and digital systems. Mr Sarfaraz has also maintained active involvement in the wider academic and professional community through his participation in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and professional development workshops. Beyond attending these events, he has served as a member of various committees associated with national and international conferences and workshops, contributing to their organisation, coordination, technical arrangements, and successful implementation. These engagements have provided opportunities for professional networking, interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and continued engagement with developments in technology, higher education, and research. Alongside his technical and administrative responsibilities, he is actively engaged in academic teaching and interdisciplinary research, particularly in Human–Computer Interaction, intelligent user interfaces, and culturally adaptive digital systems. His academic interests centre on understanding how emerging technologies can support the design of more usable, accessible, and contextually responsive digital environments. Through his research at UTHM Malaysia, he seeks to connect established HCI principles with practical approaches to intelligent and adaptive web interface development. His professional and academic contributions have been recognised through numerous letters of appreciation, certificates of recognition, and acknowledgements from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the University of Nizwa, Oman, and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). These recognitions reflect his dedication to professional excellence, academic engagement, institutional development, and active participation in research, technical, and scholarly initiatives at both national and international levels. In addition to his professional and academic accomplishments, Mr Sarfaraz values collaborative working relationships, effective communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development. His involvement in technical projects, academic committees, scholarly publishing, and research activities reflects a career that combines practical information technology expertise with an increasing commitment to higher education and scientific inquiry. With a professional career spanning more than a decade and a half, Mr Sarfaraz continues to contribute to technological innovation, academic development, and human-centred computing. His combined experience in industry-oriented technical practice, university environments, international academic engagement, and doctoral research provides a foundation for his ongoing contributions to intelligent systems, digital transformation, and culturally responsive technology design.
