Nizwa University sent a team from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture represented by a group of professors including Prof. Dr. Hussein Abdulqader, Dr. Nasrallah Hassan and Dr. Luai Al Jubouri, as well as a group of 10 students, to visit and attend the Big5 exhibition held in the United Arab Emirates in Dubai, from 25^th to 28^th November 2019.

The team has visited many engineering, technical and architectural exhibits within different fields of engineering and was briefed on the latest technologies, devices and Urban Design and Landscape displayed. The participating team from the college obtained many brochures and documents showing the engineering specifications of the devices and exhibits visited.

In addition, the team participated in some of the workshops held on the sidelines of the exhibition, in which it presents the latest engineering techniques in all its specialties, and was awarded Certificates of participation for them. More than 2,500 exhibitors participated in the exhibition, materials and products from 66 countries around the world.

The Big5 exhibition covered six main products sectors:

-       Big5 Heavy, dedicated to the infrastructure and heavy construction industry;

-       Middle East Concrete, dedicated to the concrete industry;

-       HVAC R Expo Dubai, connecting the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry;

-       Middle East Stone, focused on natural stone, marble, granite, design and technology. 

-       Big5 solar have included the provision of appropriate solar solutions in buildings and engineering constructions.

-       The Urban Design and Landscape Expo, dedicated to the development of urban green spaces.
