The Graduate Studies Officer at College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dr. Mohamed Aissa organized a meeting with master students, on Thursday, 28/02/2019 at 11:00 am at Al Shahba Hall. This meeting comes within series of previous meetings with the main objective is to listen to graduate students at College of Arts and Sciences, and to identify the problems and difficulties encountered during their studies as well as during the preparation of their master thesis. The Graduate Studies Officer advised the attendees to the progress made by the Office of Graduate Studies, where, in collaboration with the Center for Information Systems has computerized (automated) the management of graduate studies at College of Arts and Sciences, which since the establishment of the University has adopted Microsoft Office packages (as Word and Excel) to manage graduate studies and carry out statistical work which is time consuming and hectic process. The Graduate Studies Officer also encouraged students to participate in research activities and in conferences and to publish in international journals. The speech was taken by CAS Dean Dr. Ghassan Hassan Al-Shater, who noted the progress made by the College of Arts and Science in the field of graduate studies. Now the student is allowed to begin to select the subject of his thesis and choose his supervisor during the second semester of courses. The students were then given the opportunity to express their opinions and suggestions. It is worth mentioning that these meetings are very important as they contribute to the development of master thesis procedures, which are largely based on feedback from students and supervisors as well. |
