Dr. Mohammed Aissa: On Sunday, April 30, 2017, Nizwa College of Technology revived the activities of the Open Day. The Computer Science Section (Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences), with the coordination of the Center for Student Excellence, participated in the "Best Project" competition. This competition is organized by the Department of Information Technology, at the Nizwa College of Technology, in parallel with other competitions and other scientific and technical activities, in which many students participated from several colleges and universities in the Sultanate. The award was received by Manahil Rashid Abdullah AL Hinaai, Computer Science major, who participated in the Best Project Competition with her final year project "Automated -Meeting Management System", under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Aissa, Associate Professor, at the Computer Science Section. The project aims to manage meetings and committees in educational institutions, departments and companies using the computer, which helps to eliminate the use of word processing programs (such as MS Word), saves time and effort, and economizes resources. In addition, the system contributes to the follow-up of decisions taken during meetings without reference to the archive, and facilitates the extraction of reports according to the user's requests, which helps Managers, Heads of Departments, Heads of Sections and Heads of Committees to make the right decisions in real time. The system won the admiration of the Jury and the attendees and won the second place amid intense participation from several colleges and universities in the Sultanate |
