Circulation Policy
Circulation Policies:
- All library users must present a valid University of Nizwa ID Card for issuing the books. Books issued on a valid card remain the responsibility of the individual named on that card.
- The borrowed books must be returned on or before the due date mentioned on the issue slip. If any borrower failing to renew or return the borrowed materials by the due date shall be liable to pay a fine as mentioned in the above table.
- The borrowed materials can be renewed one more time by presenting University of Nizwa ID card at the Circulation Desk unless another library user requests them.
- The reference collections are only for use in the Main Library and cannot be borrowed.
- Periodicals, magazines, maps and atlases can be borrowed only for an hour or two for making a photocopy by reserving the library user card. Photocopying should be out of the library.
- Faculty members can reserve a set of books for an academic course for one semester to be accessible to all students and the books don’t loaned externally. These materials can be from the library's collections or from their own collections.
- Library users can reserve the books for 3 days only on the reservation shelves in the Circulation Desk, and if the users don’t come to borrow the books during this period, the books are returned to the library shelves.
- Faculty members can borrow library books for full semester and return them at any time if required by the library.
- Self-service photocopiers have been provided in the Main Library through the pre-paid computerized cards. To activate the card, Library user must go to the Information Systems Department to obtain a user name and password to access the photocopying machine system. However, if the user has the requirements to access the system, it will be needed only to top up a balance through the instruction system. Main Library abides by national and international copyright laws in force. Photocopying from cover to cover is not allowed.
