Biology Section

WELCOME TO THE BIOLOGY SECTION

The Biology section is the hub of the basic biological sciences at the University of Nizwa. It is responsible for research and teaching within the vast disciplines of the biological sciences, from molecular cell biology to ecology and evolutionary biology. Our faculty provide a comprehensive and progressive education to undergraduate students. And the Department plays an active role in disseminating knowledge of the biological sciences to the general public.

We offer three programs: Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Diploma in Biotechnology and Bachelor of Education in Biology. University of Nizwa is the second only institution in the Sultanate that offers programs in Biotechnology. These degrees prepare students for various life science careers and are an excellent entrée to the health care professions.
